Type of furnace is AC-EAF 70 ton with total liquid steel capacity of 85 ton, and tapping weight 70 ton, furnace drive is hydraulic with tilting angel of 18 degree forward and 10 degree backwards, electrode movement is electro-hydraulic with regulation speed standard 120 mm/sec, electrode arms of current conducting type FUCHS system. The transformer primary voltage/cycles 33kV/50 HZ,with power 60 MV.
The VAI FUCHS electric arc furnace is equipped with a tilt frame unit which accommodates the furnace vessel and the gantry. The frame is made of heavy box type construction. The tilting rockers consist of a welded design. Each rocker consist of equipped with guiding teeth. The rockers are welded to the base frame. EAF is equipped with current conducting Electrode Arms, a development by VAI FUCHS with more than 150 sets of arms provided within the last 18 years world wide with excellent performance.
The arms are in sturdy box type construction fabricated from copper plated steel and completely water-cooled. Resistance values are low, due to the large copper cross sections on the surface of the arms. The design and arrangement of the arms is very compact, assuring in all cases a narrow electrode pitch circle diameter.
